Mary Avril Gillan was born in Waterford in 1964. She studied at the National
College of Art and Design in Dublin. Her first solo show, Nostalgia for
Industry, was held at the Rubicon Gallery, Dublin in 1994. In 1997 she
was featured as the emerging Irish artist at Éigse, Carlow Arts Festival,
with a show entitled Journey Out which later went to the Rubicon
Gallery. Her work has been included in several major group shows throughout
Ireland and is held in many public and private collections in Ireland. She
lives and works in Dublin. |
