David McDermott (born 1952) and Peter McGough (born 1958) have been working
together as collaborative artists for the last eighteen years, initially
in New York and latterly in Dublin. Dressing as turn-of-the-century dandies
and depicting the world through the eyes of such, they create works in a
diversity of media. But by living among the accoutrements of that bygone
era, they also create time capsule domiciles, thus blurring the distinction
between their art and their lives. Their exhibiting careers have encompassed
both solo and group shows around the world, including three Whitney Biennials,
a retrospective and, more recently, an IMMA/Glen Dimplex nomination and
installation in 1998. |
