Michael Kane was born in 1935 in County Wicklow .He came to the forefront of the Irish art world in the early sixties where he was deeply involved in many seminal socio-political developments including: the organisation of the Independent Artists exhibitions,the establishment of the Project Arts Centre (Dublin), and the development of 'Aosdana'. Michael's own work is uncompromisingly figurative, the imagery often infused with vibrant colour and mythological references. He has exhibitied with the Rubicon Gallery countless times, as well as numerous galleries worldwide. Michael Kane is represented in many National and International public and private collections. |
